"Perfect stay in Plaka at Hotel Phaedra"
I really enjoyed my stay here. The location far as I'm concerned cannot be beat. Walk right out the door and you have pedestrian Plaka right there at your feet. The balcony off our room was precious with a lovely view of the church and courtyard. The beds were comfy; it's very clean and a bonus.....a huge rooftop terrace with Acropolis view.

"Marvelous!"
Great hotel, great place, great people, great view. Absolutely romantic! I simply loved this elegant mignone hotel, it was one of the best things when in Athens (and Athens has a lot of good things!). Great memories

"Best buy in Athens"
My wife and I stumbled on the Phaedra by sheer accident. We were looking for a hotel in the old part of town and there it was. My guess is it is family owned and run. Very clean. The first time we were there - perhaps around 83 or 84, the toilet and bath were at the end of the hall. In two later trips we (I) had private bath. It has no "lobby" to speak of so the fact that the furniture is a bit threadbare is irrelevant. I you, like us, look upon a hotel as a place to sleep and rest when sight-seeing, then the Phaedra is for you. Just out the door and a short climb upwards you have the Acropolis; across the street you have to walk down the steps to enter one of the oldest churches in town. (Queen Sofia of Spain was baptized there.) Around the corner is the Temple of Zeus, around another corner is another magnificent church. You are a few short blocks from Syntagma Plaza and on the other side of the plaza is the Parliament, guarded by skirted military. One could go on with the proximity to just about everything you want to see in Athens. The Hotel Paedra? Clean, friendly and inexpensive. I know I had breakfast there in April of 2000 but I don't think they serve meals. No matter. You are also in the heart of dozens of eating places for all purses. The temptation is to say "for budget travelers" but you don't have to carry a back-pack to feel as if you got your money's worth in the Phaedra.

"Good value, great location"
Great location in Plaka area of Athens, just off the main strip with view of Acropolis from rooftop. Basic clean accommodation. Friendly efficient staff. Would definately stay there again. Air con.

"Perfect location and price!"
My teeenagers liked this hotel so much better than the 5 star hotel we stayed at in Thessaloniki!! I highly reccomend Pheadra. We had a triple room facing St Catherine's. We loved the view.

"Friendly family run hotel"
Stayed here for several nights. Staff were helpful, informative, and room was clean. I would certainly return here.

"Loved this Hotel!"
Hotel Phaedra is a great Hotel, also with a great price! My husband and I went there, the room was beautiful, the view from the balcony was great and the hotel was very clean with a friendly staff. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others! Not only was the hotel great, but the location is perfect- right in the middle of the Plaka area which is the shopping, market district. There are many shops and restaurants right outside the door.

"Can't wait to return"
On our way to Crete we book out place at Phaedra and so they stored our one big suitcase until we returned a week later! Great service. Our room had a minute balcony from which we watched the light change on the Acropolis as well as all the activities in the main shopping street below us. Due to the good quality door fittings once they were closed the noise from the street disappeared.

"Inexpensive, friendly, Acropolis view"
On arrival in Athens, we decided to stay in the Acropolis area, and found this little hotel. We've recommended it to several others, as it was beautifully located, very small and intimate, had interesting views, and was clean, affordable, and well-tended.
If we get back to Athens, we'll stay there, as it's close to the bus routes to get to all other areas.
The Acropolis district felt safe, was clean, and generally- FABULOUS!!!

"Friendly, Great location, Walk to Acropolis on Pedestrian Path"
Great neighborhood with pedestrian path to the Acropolis less than a block away. We toured the historic sites of Athens all day on foot from this location. Just what we wanted. Great restaurants and shops are right outside the hotel door. The management is very friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and tidy, small but well laid out. Would stay again!!! "Great location, good value"
An ideal place to stay in the Plaka only 3-4 minutes from the Acropolis Metro station and the Acropolis itself. Very good value for money, clean and friendly. Many rooms have views up to the Acropolis.

"Nice location, friendly staff, clean hotel"
This hotel was in the perfect spot for our trip. It was near the Acropolis, the flea market, and souvlaki row with a museum or two and gardens within walking distance as well. The staff was friendly, willing to help with our Greek, and eager to please.

"Budget priced hotel at an excellent location"
Excellent location, right in the middle of Plaka. Our room even had a view of the Acropolis. Its a easy 5 min walk from the Acropolis metro station as well. Near to all the major sights, shopping and restaurants. While the location and room prices cant be beat, room sizes esp. the ones with the private bathrooms are a little too tight. Other than that there isnt much to complain.

"Would highly recommend this charming hotel"
We stayed in the Hotel Phaedra in the Plaka (very near Hadrian's Arch). It was EXTREMELY clean, VERY friendly, convenient, and reasonable for the area. We stayed in the most expensive room (80 euros) because we wanted a double bed, balcony (view of the Acropolis---faces the lookout point with the Greek flag flying), and private bathroom. There are less expensive rooms as well. There is a computer in the lobby to access the internet. We cannot say enough about this charming little hotel. When we return the Athens someday, we would stay there again without hesitation. The hotel is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our plane was delayed over 7 hours upon departure...we decided to return to the plaka from the airport to enjoy more time in Athens. We asked the hotel if we could leave our belongings to walk around (after we had checked out and left for the day)...they said of course. They also let us use the bathrooms at this same time. Highly recommend this place!

"Great location and value"
I stayed at phaedra for a few nights at either end of my trip to Greece. It was my first time in Athens and I was travelling on my own and felt really comfortable at Phaedra. It's in a great location, right in the heart of Plaka, close to all the main historic attractions, shops and restaurants. The room was really clean and as requested I had a balcony with an Acropolis view. The roof terrace is also really nice with amazing views. "Awesome location, Awesome view!"
We were really happy with our stay at Hotel Phaedra! It's central location in the Plaka made it easy to walk everywhere. There were tons of shopping and restaurant options around and we felt in the center of it all. The hotel has an elevator which is a nice treat after a long flight and with a backpack. The staff was very nice and attentive/happy to help if we had any questions. The room was clean and average size when it comes to our experience with other European hotels. The best thing was the rooftop patio - huge with an amazing view of the back of the acropolis. A great place to finish off the evening with a glass of wine and a great way to kick off our trip!
